Incredible India

Hi !
This is a blog for everyone who is interested to know about India, knows about India and wants to know more about India. what made me write this blog is the fact that not many people know about India. In fact if you come across some Hollywood movie about India or some other foreign film. You would see only bad things. That's real bad at least for all Indians. I am not going to bore you with each and every detail like GDP,Inflation etc. Those who are interested , i suggest you to go to wikipedia. Here in this blog, We are just going to enjoy fantastic stories about India, amazing places, different cultures and we are just gonna rock and roll. :-)

Thinking of giving it a rocking start what could have been the better topic than TAJ MAHAL. I know some of you have heard about it or seen it's pictures. I am definitely not going to talk about that. I am going to recount a story, a story that's a prelude to this magnificent creation.

Those who don't know anything about TAJ MAHAL, i must tell you that it is one of the seven wonders of the world. TAJ MAHAL was built by Mugal emperor Shahjahan for his beloved wife Mumtaj. Mugal emperors ruled over India for quite a long time and they did some good things and some bad things too. Anyways, let's begin the story. :-)
Shajhan was the ruler of Agra and he used to visit the market once in a while. Mumtaj for whom he built the Taj Mahal didn't belong to the regal family. Being precise ,she used to work in a condiment shop run by her father. It was love at first sight. I know this sounds really dramatic but it's true. :-) So, Shahjahan (who was the Sultan of the regime) used his resources and got all the information about her. Once he knew everything about her. He'd to just propose her only. I mean who says "no" to the Emperor of India.lol. Anyways, that's how she got married to Shahjahan. I should mention that Shahjahan had other princesses too. I think it's in the royal culture to be promiscuous and have fun with as many women as you want. :-) But he always had had a special place for Mumtaj.
Why he wanted to Build Taj Mahal only ? I think the question should be answered. Shahjahan wanted to create 'Heaven' on earth. Though he could have made it anywhere else ,at some other locations but he wanted to build with proximity to a river where one could see the glittering sun rays wavering over the water. So,it was built on the banks of river 'Yamuna' .He wanted to create heaven at this place. His idea was that the heaven would contain beautiful gardens, unparalleled structures and water cascades.(By the way he forgot ethereal beauties) :-) He wanted to build such a structure which could never be replicated. One structure which would declare his perpetual love for his beloved wife.

It was built a long long time ago when there was no paraphernalia available to furnish the task easily. Thousands of elephants were used to pull the stones needed and innumerable people were used. White marbles were transported from other states like Rajasthan and even some of the materials from other countries too like SriLanka, China,Tibet,Arabia etc. Those who have seen the Taj Mahal must have noticed scriptures on the walls of it. Actually those were holy excerpts taken from Kuran( holy scripture of Muslim Religion).

Some interesting facts were , there were some futile attempts to replicate Taj Mahal but they were not successful. I forgot to tell you that the hands of all the labors who built the Taj Mahal have been cut. It sound brutal but it's true. I guess proletarians have to face this all the time, Taking bilge from people above them. Anyways, now one more starting thing , Do u know how did Mumtaj die ? I think you don't know. She died while giving birth to her 13th children. C'mon , how can you not control. I know condom was not invented at that time. Still.. :-) So she died while giving birth to her 13th child. Some more strange things which followed is Aurangzeb (son of Shahjahan) imprisoned his own father and kept him inside Agra Fort which had proximity to Taj Mahal. This is a paradigm of how "power corrupts all", and (imprisoning your father is the most outrageous thing one can possibly do). During this imprisonment, Shahjahan used to stare at his own creation and used to miss her beloved wife. Once he died , Aurangzeb his son burried him beside Mumtaj the queen.

This is the burial ground for Shahjahan and Mumtaj. Though it has a sad ending, i don't think there could be anyone who can proclaim his/her love in such a style. Though it's said that history repeats itself, i don't think another Taj Mahal could ever be built and especially built for love.
